What’s your favorite and least favorite part of publishing?
My favorite part is plotting the stories and then bringing them to life. There is so much scope and joy in the writing process for me. My least favorite part is marketing, but without it, the books don’t get discovered, so I do my best.
How important was professional editing to your book’s development?
A professional editor is very important, but it can also be expensive. I use a combination of writing tools such as Prowriting Aid, beta readers, and proofreaders to make my work as polished as possible before publication.
What’s your favorite writing snack or drink?
I enjoy Bai Coconut water and Rasberry Zinger iced tea in the summer time. In the winter, it’s still Bai coconut, but I also enjoy Ryze. I used to drink coffee, but my body doesn’t like it, so mushroom coffee took it’s place. My go-to snack is mixed nuts with M & Ms added in. Yum!!
If you could be a character in one of your favorite books, who would you be and why?
I wouldn’t mind walking a mile in Charlotte Knox’s shoes. She is fairly bad-ass with a strong sense of right and wrong. Plus, having a friend like Sasha, the wyvern, and a stone like Doirsain to magnify my power would be fun. I’d like to do what she does, helping people and making the world a better place.
Brief Biography
C.L. (aka Cheri) Roman, writes sci-fi and fantasy under the name C.L. Roman, and paranormal romance under the name Leigh Roman. She also collaborates with her grandchildren to write middle-grade fantasy under the name Honey Roman.
Cheri and her ever-patient husband live in the not-so-wilds of Northeast Florida with their mini-menagerie, including Jack E. Boy, the super Chihuahua, Bennie the Jet, and Pyewacket (Pye), the invisible cat.
