Sarah Price is one of America’s best-known authors of Amish fiction and, with more than seventy titles to her name, by far the most prolific writer in our entire directory. Born into a Mennonite family with roots in Pennsylvania tracing back to the 1700s, she began living among Amish communities in Lancaster County in 1978 and has drawn on that firsthand experience ever since, including a celebrated series of Jane Austen retellings set in Amish country, beginning with First Impressions, her take on Pride and Prejudice. She holds advanced degrees in communication, marketing, and educational leadership, is an ordained minister, and was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, the same year she began writing full-time from Branded, her thirty-acre ranch in Archer where her daughter trains and rehomes wild mustangs. Her novels have repeatedly topped Amazon’s overall and religion bestseller charts and the ECPA Christian fiction bestseller list.
